Job summary

Alder is seeking a compassionate Part-time Enrichment Specialist for the Flourish Program to support older adults in South Shore communities. You will design and facilitate engaging activities that promote social, emotional, and mental well-being, tailored to interests and abilities.

Ideal candidates bring experience with older adults, strong communication, empathy, and creativity. Travel to community locations may be required; a valid driver's license and background check are required.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with older adults, either professionally or through lived experience, is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build meaningful relationships with older adults.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to create and implement engaging, accessible activities that cater to a variety of interests and abilities.
  • Empathy and patience in working with individuals who may have varying cognitive or physical limitations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and Implement Programs: Design and facilitate social, educational, and recreational programs tailored to the interests, abilities, and needs of older adults.
  • Engagement and Outreach: Build rapport with older adults and their families to encourage engagement.
  • One-on-One Engagement: Offer individual support and companionship to seniors, helping them connect with what’s important (meaningful) to them and stay mentally and emotionally engaged.
  • Monitor Progress: Track the success of engagement efforts, adjusting activities based on feedback and the evolving needs of participants.
  • Collaborate: Work with other staff members, caregivers (care partners/family), and volunteers to coordinate and enhance engagement efforts.
  • Maintain Records: Keep accurate records of participant engagement, preferences, and feedback for reporting purposes and future program improvements.

Job Title: Enrichment Specialist, Flourish Program
Location: South Shore Territory
Schedule: Part-time position (up to 20 hours per week) requiring availability during standard business hours, Monday through Friday.

We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and creative individual to join our team as a Part‑Time Enrichment Specialist for Older Adults. In accordance with the Massachusetts Pay Transparency Act, the expected pay range for this position is $30–$35 hourly. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as licensure, years of experience, and other relevant qualifications.
