Join our vibrant team as a STEM Instructor at our innovative After-School Program (ASP), where education meets inspiration to cultivate young minds in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics - alongside essential soft skills such as public speaking, speech and debate, academic writing, and communication. We are seeking a dedicated and engaging educator with a passion for interdisciplinary STEM education to lead 1-hour sessions on weekday afternoons beginning in Sep 2026.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging, hands-on lessons across a variety of STEM topics, which may include science experiments, critical thinking exercises, communication skills, public speaking, and creative/technical writing.
- Inspire and challenge students through project-based learning, collaborative activities, and real-world applications of STEM and communication skills.
- Foster a supportive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, confidence, teamwork, and innovation.
- Teach 2 to 3 hours per week, between 4:00 PM and 5:30 PM on weekdays, depending on scheduling and site needs.
- Adapt curriculum and instructional techniques to meet the needs of students with different learning styles and abilities.
- Assess student participation and growth through informal observation, interactive activities, and skill-based challenges.
- Integrate public speaking and communication techniques into STEM instruction to support well-rounded development.
- Maintain classroom materials and ensure a safe, organized, and engaging learning space.
- Participate in occasional professional development to stay current on best practices in STEM and education.

Core Requirements
- Experience teaching or mentoring students in a classroom, camp, or workshop setting.
- Passion for STEM education and youth development.
- Strong communication and classroom management skills.
- Background in education, STEM fields, or liberal arts with a strong foundation in communication/public speaking.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, STEM, Communication, or a related field is preferred but not required.
- Ability to inspire, motivate, and adapt to diverse learners in grades 1-6.
Compensation
$40 - $60 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
