Job summary

KLA is seeking a Software Engineer to advance our HPC infrastructure, enabling large-scale experimentation and deployment. You will contribute to data management, ML model training, and distributed systems, working with C/C++ and Python on Windows and Linux.

Experience with ML/DL is a plus, and familiarity with CUDA, Spark, and distributed computing will help you succeed in this role at a leading tech company.

Group/Division

The Semiconductor Products and Customers (Semi PC) business unit designs, builds and sells the company’s product portfolio to help chip manufacturers meet high-quality standards for technologies like AI, data centers, automotive and electronic devices. Our inspection, metrology, and analytics systems detect and monitor defects across logic and memory chips, specialty semiconductors, wafers, reticles, advanced packaging, process equipment and materials. We also develop technologies for specialty processes, IC substrates, and PCB manufacturing, including etch and deposition, component inspection, and imaging and analytics. the company's Central Engineering organization is made up of nine Centers of Excellence (CoEs) spanning disciplines like automation, motion control, sensors, platform design, and packaging. Each CoE contributes not only technical deliverables but also deep expertise, best practices, and advanced tools that elevate both what we build—and how we build it.

What You’ll Do

In this role, you will play a key part in advancing business priorities by delivering high-impact work across your area of expertise.

Responsibilities

Engineers in the Software team will be working on building and maintaining infrastructure vital for large scale experimentation and deployment of HPC solutions. Domains in which a successful candidate will be encouraged to chip in, will include, data management and data loading, support for machine learning and deep learning model training.

Although familiarity with Machine Learning and Deep Learning solutions would be a huge plus, this is primarily a Software Engineering position. Successful candidates are passionate about software and will have outstanding skills and hands on experience with development in C/C++ and Python in a Windows/Linux environment. Deep conceptual understanding of multi-threaded, multi process and distributed software systems is vital.

Desirable Skills

Cloud technologies for network, storage, containerization and compute clusters. Building and configuring Linux kernels, and designing and fixing network infrastructure; Linux Device Driver Development Understanding of various networking stacks GPU Architectures and CUDA (CuGraph, CuData, CuML etc). Distributing computing frameworks like Apache Spark, DASK; Creating the techniques and methods to integrate multiple hardware and software subsystems to seek sophisticated technical challenges;

Data Science Skills

Data science skills to acquire, transform and present data from various sources to build powerful debugging and analysis software

Qualifications

BS in Math, CS, Engineering or related field.
