Job summary

Chenega MIOS seeks a Professional Tutor (English) in Lawrence, KS to provide in-person tutoring, reinforce study habits, and improve students' academic achievement. You will work with the Vice President of Academic Affairs and deans to align credentials and access to historical sources for reference.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in the subject or graduate degree, plus a willingness to complete trainings and engage with diverse student populations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in the subject matter or related field.
• Background check required.
• Strong communication skills and ability to engage diverse learners.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-person tutoring for English to support course materials.
• Collaborate with the VPA and deans to align credentials and resource access.
• Complete trainings required by the Department of the Interior, Bureau of Indian Education, and Haskell Indian Nations University.
• Participate in semester tutoring assessments and reports.
• Support a diverse inter-tribal student population with culturally sensitive instruction.
• Other duties as assigned.
