Varsity Tutors is seeking a Texas Certified Teacher to join its Live Learning Platform as a remote tutor. You’ll leverage classroom expertise to deliver K-12 instruction, set your own schedule, and earn competitive rates, all from home.

Teach 1-on-1 sessions to students nationwide, connect TEKS concepts to student goals, and use the platform tools to support flexible, impactful teaching. Remote tutoring offers growth and reliable payments.

Qualifications

• Active Texas Teaching Certificate (TEA) is required and must be verifiable.
• Deep knowledge of certified subject areas with K-12 alignment.
• Experience teaching in a Texas classroom and TEKS standards application.

What We Look For In a Texas Certified Teacher Tutor

• Active Texas Teaching Certificate (Required): Must hold a current, active teaching certificate issued by the Texas Education Agency (TEA). You will be asked to provide your certificate number during the application process for verification at tealprod.tea.state.tx.us.
• Subject Matter Expertise: Deep knowledge in your certified subject area(s), with the ability to connect K-12 curriculum concepts to student needs across grade levels and learning goals.
• Classroom Teaching Experience: Demonstrated experience in a Texas classroom setting, with a strong understanding of TEKS (Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills) standards and how to apply them in one‑on‑one instruction.
• Conceptual Teaching &Adaptive Instruction: Skilled at diagnosing student gaps, adjusting pacing and approach, and explaining concepts through multiple methods to meet each student where they are.
• Effective Teaching Methods: Ability to identify concepts students commonly struggle with, explain material using multiple approaches, and adapt instruction to meet individual learning needs and styles.
• Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style.
