Varsity Tutors is seeking a Texas Certified Teacher to join their Live Learning Platform as a remote tutor. You’ll bring classroom expertise to a flexible schedule, earning competitive rates, and making a real impact on students’ lives from home.

As a Texas-certified educator, you’ll be matched with K-12 students, teach across TEKS standards, and benefit from the platform’s AI tools while invoicing sessions and receiving payments promptly.

Qualifications

• Active Texas Teaching Certificate (Required): Must hold a current, active teaching certificate issued by the Texas Education Agency (TEA).
• Subject matter expertise in your certified subject area(s) with ability to connect K-12 curriculum concepts to student needs.
• Classroom teaching experience in a Texas classroom setting with TEKS alignment.
• Conceptual teaching and adaptive instruction to diagnose gaps and adjust pacing for each student.

What We Look For In a Texas Certified Teacher Tutor

• Active Texas Teaching Certificate (Required): Must hold a current, active teaching certificate issued by the Texas Education Agency (TEA). You will be asked to provide your certificate number during the application process for verification at tealprod.tea.state.tx.us.
• Subject Matter Expertise: Deep knowledge in your certified subject area(s), with the ability to connect K-12 curriculum concepts to student needs across grade levels and learning goals.
• Classroom Teaching Experience: Demonstrated experience in a Texas classroom setting, with a strong understanding of TEKS (Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills) standards and how to apply them in one-on-one instruction.
• Conceptual Teaching & Adaptive Instruction: Skilled at diagnosing student gaps, adjusting pacing and approach, and explaining concepts through multiple methods to meet each student where they are.
• Effective Teaching Methods: Ability to identify concepts students commonly struggle with, explain material using multiple approaches, and adapt instruction to meet individual learning needs and styles.
• Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style.
