Job Description
ESOL Teacher
- Location: Multiple Locations throughout St. Louis, MO
- Openings: 8
- Schedule: Monday-Friday
- Hours: 37.5 hours per week
- Shift: Typically 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM, though some positions may be 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM or 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM based on assignment
- Contract Length: 9 Months
- Start Date: August 17, 2026
Position Overview
We are seeking dedicated and passionate ESOL Teachers to support English language learners in achieving academic success. The ideal candidate will foster an inclusive and engaging classroom environment while delivering high-quality instruction that meets the diverse needs of students.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and implement daily and long-range instructional plans aligned with curriculum standards.
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of curriculum content and subject matter.
- Utilize effective teaching strategies, instructional techniques, and classroom management skills.
- Assess and evaluate student progress through a variety of methods.
- Maintain a positive, safe, and productive learning environment.
- Differentiate instruction to accommodate individual learning styles and needs.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with students to support academic and personal growth.
- Communicate student progress, achievements, and concerns with parents and guardians.
- Collaborate effectively with administrators, teachers, and school staff.
- Adhere to district policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Participate in school activities and assume responsibilities outside the classroom as needed.
- Demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional development and growth.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the building principal or designee.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field required.
- Valid teaching certification/license required.
- ESOL/ELL certification or endorsement preferred.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations and collaborate with colleagues, parents, and community stakeholders.
