Job summary

Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi invites applications for a full-time, 9-month, non-tenure-track faculty position in English, starting Spring 2027. Rank may be Instructor or Professional Assistant Professor. The successful candidate will teach a 5/5 load in first-year writing and possibly upper-division courses, with both in-person and online delivery.

The role includes service at multiple levels and ongoing engagement with students and the campus community.

Qualifications

• Master of Arts in English, rhetoric and composition, or related field.
• Record of quality teaching in first-year writing.
• Experience with corequisite models for developmental writing is preferred.
• Experience teaching and advising first-generation students and historically underserved communities.
• Commitment to fostering student engagement and success across diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Teach a 5/5 course load primarily in first-year writing and possibly upper-division courses by specialization.
• Deliver instruction face-to-face and online; participate in departmental, college, and university service.
