Job summary

AMDA College of the Performing Arts is seeking passionate, student-centered, highly qualified part-time adjunct instructors to teach undergraduate English courses on the New York Campus. Courses are in person, typically meeting two days per week for 2‑hour sessions, designed to support emerging performing artists in academic and communication skills.

Required credentials include a terminal degree in English or related field and substantial college teaching experience.

Qualifications

• Terminal degree (Ph.D., D.F.A., Ed.D., or equivalent) in English or related field from an accredited institution.
• Master's degree (M.A., M.F.A., M.Ed., etc.) with substantial college teaching experience.
• Extensive higher education teaching experience plus advanced English/literature credentials.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction in accordance with established curricula, outlines and schedules.
• Create an environment promoting learning, discussion, and critical thinking.
• Support diversity and inclusion content within the learning experience.
• Evaluate student progress and maintain accurate academic records.
• Uphold professional conduct and keep subject matter knowledge current.
• Fulfill responsibilities of a part-time adjunct faculty member.
