Job summary

Oklahoma Baptist University seeks one or more adjunct instructors for the Division of Language & Literature to teach English composition courses. Candidates must hold 18 graduate hours in English and demonstrate strong pedagogy and classroom management.

Preferred candidates hold a Master’s or PhD in English. Positions are security sensitive and may require a background check. Compensation varies by education; mileage reimbursement for out-of-area candidates may be available.

Qualifications

• 18 graduate hours in English or related field; classroom teaching experience required.
• Master’s or PhD in English or related field; experience teaching undergraduates preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach 1–3 courses per semester in English composition as assigned.
• Prepare and distribute syllabi according to university policy.
• Organize and direct learning experiences with assigned classes as outlined in the syllabus and objectives.
• Meet classes as scheduled and required.
• Keep accurate class records and submit reports and grades on time.
