Engineering Technicians V. The role is to perform the most difficult and complex technical engineering tasks and responsibilities within a specific area of concentration. Tasks include preparing landfill plans and maps; preparing complex right‑of‑way maps, cross sections, contour maps and exhibits for a variety of projects; preparing preliminary and final plans and complex construction drawings utilizing AutoCAD; calculating vertical and horizontal alignments, hydrologic and hydraulic equations, earthwork and material quantities; preparing construction cost estimates; conducting field investigations; preparing exhibits and As‑Builts; making design modifications of standards to meet local conditions under the general supervision of a professional engineer; serving as project engineer on minor projects; assisting professional engineers in identifying practical problems; writing and reviewing special provisions for contract specifications; assisting in research for customer service requests; assisting with drafting Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan and Water Quality Management Plan; conducting utility coordination and research including potholing; coordinating work with internal and external parties; and, where applicable, assisting with the contract procurement process.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, engineering construction technology, or a closely related field, and experience working with government agencies.
