Job summary

Astrion is seeking an Engineering Technician V to support Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL. The role requires Secret clearance and full-time commitment at the Huntsville facility.

Responsibilities include assisting Test Engineers, fabricating test parts, setting up and tearing down tests, developing test methods, and maintaining equipment and inventory. Ideal candidates have extensive electronics/instrumentation experience and strong customer-relations skills.

Qualifications

• 9 years of experience supporting engineering, design or testing of hardware; or 4 years of college + 5 years in specialty area.
• 16 weeks of civilian or military electronics/instrumentation training with minimum 6 years in electronics/instrumentation supporting engineering or testing of military hardware.

Responsibilities

• Support Test Engineers with various types of testing.
• Fabricating/Machining parts for test support and data collection systems.
• Assist with Network Installation and Management, Test Setup, Execution, and Tear-down.
• Develop requirements, procedures, and unique test methods.
• Support equipment maintenance and inventory.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

• 9 years of applicable experience supporting engineering, design or testing of hardware in the appropriate area of specialization; or 4 years of applicable college/vocational/military/technical school and 5 years of applicable experience in the assigned specialty area; and the following additional requirements:
• Instrumentation – Experience must include successful completion of sixteen (16) weeks of civilian or military training in electronics or basic instrumentation techniques and a minimum of 6 years of experience in electronics/instrumentation supporting engineering or testing of military hardware.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

• Exceptional customer relationship skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support Test Engineers with various types of testing to include:
• Fabricating/Machining parts for test support, Infrared Data Collection, UAS/CUAS, Target Vehicle Operations, Aircraft Survivability Equipment, Sensors, lasers, radar, Force Protection Systems, Integrated Base Defense.
• Assist with Network Installation and Management, Test Setup, Test Execution, and Test Tear-down.
• Help develop requirements, procedures, and unique test methods.
• Support equipment maintenance and inventory.
