Sabre Systems is currently recruiting for an Engineering Technician (Model-Based) IV to support the Systems Engineering Department at Patuxent River Naval Air Station in Lexington Park, MD. The program provides systems engineering support for weapons systems on various platforms, including research, analysis, documentation, and evaluation throughout the acquisition lifecycle.

This technician performs non-routine, complex assignments, often with limited precedents, and may plan such assignments. Work is reviewed for technical adequacy, with guidance from supervisors or engineers. The technician may assist lower-level technicians and interact with professionals within the organization.

Responsibilities

• Developing or reviewing designs by analyzing engineering data and applying conventional practices to create schematics, designs, specifications, electrical drawings, and parts lists.
• Conducting tests or experiments, preparing and operating equipment, recording data, and analyzing complex problems, often requiring higher-level resolution.
• Applying research methods to construct prototypes, conduct tests, develop redesigns, and evaluate data and reports.

Experience with MBSE practices is required, including developing system models, requirements, and architecture, using object-oriented programming, scripting languages (JavaScript, Groovy, Python), and SysML simulation capabilities.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in a technical or scientific field from an accredited institution.
• At least two years of relevant experience working with SysML models and MBSE tools such as Cameo System Modeler, Cameo Enterprise Architect, etc.
• Expertise in building systems engineering and architecture models, with knowledge of UML, SysML, and UAF.
• Must pass a background check, hold an active DoD Secret or higher clearance, and be a US citizen.
