Job summary

Infleqtion is seeking an experienced assembler for its production area to assemble sub‑components, sub‑systems, and complete products in the Time & Frequency product line. You will use drawings, models, and engineering judgment to build optical, mechanical, and electrical assemblies.

The role requires strong manual dexterity, the ability to read mechanical drawings, and adherence to safety and quality standards in a cleanroom environment. Travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

Associate degree in a technical field with 5+ years of hands-on experience in precision assembly or related high‑reliability hardware.
Experience with at least three of: precision optical assembly, fiber handling, laser systems, electro‑mechanical assembly, RF assembly, metrology, or cleanroom production.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, GD&T, BOMs, travelers, and inspection plans.
Familiarity with cleanroom practices and standard documentation systems.

Responsibilities

Independently perform complex, multi‑step assembly of optical, mechanical, and electrical components using drawings and models.
Own builds from kit readiness to final inspection, test support, documentation, and handoff.
Troubleshoot assembly, inspection, and process issues; propose corrective actions.
Collaborate with engineering to translate designs into repeatable build methods and inspection criteria.
Maintain clean, safe work area and uphold quality and configuration control.

POSITION SUMMARY

Working in our production area, this role will be responsible for assembling sub-components, sub-systems and complete products in Infleqtion’s commercial Time & Frequency product line. This role requires good manual dexterity, ability to conduct visual inspections, understanding of mechanical, electrical, and optical engineering equipment, and commitment to follow all safety processes.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Independently perform complex, multi-step assembly processes for optical, mechanical, and electrical assemblies using work instructions, drawings, solid models, schematics, and engineering judgment.
Own assigned builds from kit readiness through final inspection, test support, documentation, nonconformance resolution, and handoff to the next production or engineering stage.
Execute new, complex, or low-volume builds where documentation may be incomplete, escalating gaps while maintaining quality, safety, and configuration control.
Partner with engineering to translate drawings, prototypes, and informal process knowledge into repeatable build methods, fixtures, work instructions, and inspection criteria.
Perform necessary maintenance and housekeeping activities to ensure a clean and safe work area
Act as a quality gate for assigned builds, ensuring workmanship, cleanliness, documentation, and inspection results meet product and customer expectations before handoff.
Independently troubleshoot assembly, inspection, test, tooling, and process issues across optical, mechanical, and electrical workstreams; isolate likely root causes and propose practical corrective actions.
Support root‑cause analysis, corrective actions, and verification of process fixes.
Demonstrates advanced proficiency across multiple applicable production processes and product areas, with the ability to cross‑train into new processes quickly.
Train, mentor, and provide technical guidance to Level I/II technicians on build methods, inspection standards, workmanship expectations, cleanroom behavior, and safe equipment use.
Provide feedback on work instructions, training materials, fixtures, and inspection methods to improve repeatability and reduce technician‑to‑technician variation.

QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Associate degree in a technical field and 5+ years of relevant hands‑on experience in precision assembly, optics, lasers, vacuum systems, photonics, semiconductor, aerospace, medical device, or similar high‑reliability hardware environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Demonstrated experience with at least three of the following: precision optical assembly, fiber handling, laser systems, electro‑mechanical assembly, RF assembly, precision metrology, delicate‑component handling, cable/harness assembly, alignment, bonding, adhesive processes, or cleanroom production.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, GD&T, assembly drawings, BOMs, travelers, schematics, and inspection plans.
Experience using structured build documentation, nonconformance processes, change control, and production quality systems.
Comfort and familiarity with standard clean room practices and working in clean rooms
Familiarity with optical surface quality specifications: MIL‑PRF‑13830B and ISO 10110‑7
Experience with RF assembly and Optical handling experience is desired
Ability to inspect parts against technical drawings, including those with GD&T tolerancing
Good dexterity to assemble small components into sub‑assemblies
Proficient in MS Office

WORKING CONDITIONS and PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Work will normally be performed in an office and laboratory environment and around technical equipment including computers and lasers. Able to sit, stand, bend, lift and carry up to 40 pounds without assistance. Able to efficiently use automated office equipment such as laptops, copiers, and printers; able to effectively engage in communications (via phone, computer, or in‑person). Any required Personal Protective Equipment will be provided and must be properly used in accordance with company requirements.
