Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking an Engineering Technician at the Elkton, Maryland facility to support the Propulsion Systems & Controls (PS&C) unit. The role involves technical data handling, documentation, and cooperation with engineers across multiple projects, with eligibility for a secret clearance.

Positions are Level 2 or 3 based on education, experience, and competency, with duties ranging from data analysis to assembly support and potential 3D printing tasks.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Level 2 requires at least 2 years of experience; Level 3 requires at least 4 years of experience.
  • Must be a US citizen and able to obtain a secret clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to engineers on a variety of tasks.
  • Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data and engineering documentation.
  • Produces engineering reports, drawings, flow charts, and schematics; performs mathematical calculations.
  • May conduct tests and record data to assist with engineering evaluation or analysis.
  • May have additional duties including sample preparation, building and disassembly of rocket motors, propellant mixing and machining, and supporting 3D printing operations.

Northrop Grumman’s Defense Systems sector is looking for an Engineering Technician – level 2 or 3 to support the Propulsion Systems & Controls (PS&C) Business Unit. The position will be located in Elkton, Maryland. Northrop Grumman Propulsion Systems and Controls (PS&C) facility in Elkton, Maryland began solid-propellant rocket operations in 1948. Today, the Elkton PS&C facility designs, develops, and produces solid-propellant propulsion and ordnance systems in programs professionally managed for a wide variety of Government and commercial customers. The facility also serves as the hub for offsite engineering and test facilities in Ronkonkoma, NY and Palm Beach Gardens, FL. Elkton, Maryland is located on the Upper Chesapeake Bay, midway between Philadelphia and Baltimore. Responsibilities

Description Provides technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks. Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data, such as laboratory or material test results and engineering design changes. Produces engineering documentation, reports, drawings (flow charts, block diagrams, and schematics). Performs detailed mathematical calculations using established formulas; preliminary analyses of data where guidelines are provided in such areas as trajectory adequacy, model dimensional consistency; and quantitative judgments concerning technical data. Uses personal computer in performance of analyses and development of documentation/reports. May conduct tests and record data to assist with engineering evaluation or analysis. May have additional assigned duties, including sample preparation, building and disassembly of rocket motors, propellant mixing and machining, and supporting 3D printing operations. Level to be hired to depends on demonstrated education, skills, experience, and competency.

Qualifications

  • Qualifications for Level 3: High school diploma or equivalent At least 4 years of experience Must be a US citizen and able to obtain a secret clearance
Salary
  • Primary Level Salary Range: $53,500.00 - $89,100.00
  • Secondary Level Salary Range: $63,500.00 - $105,900.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
