Job Description and Responsibilities
The Engineering Technician IV will ensure our government customer achieves the desired infrastructure, capabilities, and processes for deployment of systems and services at the speed of relevance. Responsibilities include collaborative logistics integration and interoperability to enhance command and control, communications, and readiness.
Duties
- Provide technician support during test and demonstration planning.
- Develop and test solutions to solve technical problems in research, development, manufacturing, inspection, and maintenance.
- Assist engineers in inspecting products, conducting tests, and collecting data.
- Follow published user manuals and maintenance documentation.
- Support engineering teams by reading, editing, and creating electrical drawings and system schematics.
- Provide test event support including resource identification, planning, delivery, site setup, daily operation, and retrograde.
- Arrange for material handling equipment for off-loading, loading, and movement of test and training equipment.
- Set up and operate test equipment power generation and distribution, and environmental control equipment.
Education
- High school diploma or GED + 5 years of full‑time engineering technician experience supporting DoD.
- 4 years of hands‑on experience in installation, troubleshooting, repairing, and/or testing major military systems.
- Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of required education.
Required Experience
- Secret clearance.
- Past performance in supporting DoD logistics activities and/or field support.
- Team collaboration, leading discussions to achieve positive outcomes.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Basic networking and emplacement of military systems with proper training manuals.
- Experience developing and testing solutions to technical problems in various support tasks.
Preferred Experience
- Experience following user manuals and maintenance documentation.
- Experience reading, editing, and creating electrical drawings and system schematics.
- Experience working at military facility locations or field bases.
Travel
Up to 20% based on customer needs.
