Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in an associate’s degree in electronics technologies or actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.3; unofficial transcripts acceptable.
  • Solid understanding of engineering fundamentals.
  • Ability to conduct hands-on testing, debugging and assembly in a lab environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform limited production and prototyping activities such as cable fabrication and system assembly.
  • Identify and set up test equipment and perform testing and troubleshooting of products.
  • Hands-on work in an electronic lab with soldering and assembly of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Troubleshoot electronic warfare, radar and communications systems using RF test equipment.
  • Set up test fixtures and execute functional and environmental tests to evaluate performance.

Job description

SRC, Inc. is currently seeking an Engineering Technician Intern who will be working onsite, 40 hours a week. You will contribute to the design, development, implementation and testing of state-of-the-art radar and electronic warfare products. You will work closely with senior engineers & technicians to gain experience in creating innovative solutions tailored to our products and customer needs. You will bring your unique perspective to our multi-department teams of engineers and technicians to collaborate on assemblies aligned with project goals and requirements.
What You'll Do
  • Perform limited production and prototyping activities (cable fabrication, system assembly, circuit board testing, etc.).
  • Identify and setup test equipment and perform testing and troubleshooting of products and/or systems.
  • Hands-on work in an electronic lab environment with soldering, assembly of mechanical, and electrical systems/sub-systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electronic warfare, radar and communication systems using electronic and radio frequency (RF)-based test equipment, applying principles and theories of electronics and electrical circuitry.
  • Set up standard test apparatus and/or build test fixtures, cables and other circuitry to conduct functional, operational, environmental and life tests to evaluate performance and reliability of development, prototype or limited production units and systems.
What You'll Bring
  • Current enrollment in an associate’s degree in a relevant technician field (e.g., electronics technologies, electrical technologies) or current enrollment in a bachelor’s degree in a relevant technician field (e.g., Engineering Technology)
  • A minimum grade point average of 3.3. Most recent transcripts are required with application (unofficial transcripts are acceptable)
  • A strong understanding of your engineering fields foundational concepts
  • Knowledge of design, testing, and debugging techniques relevant to your field
  • Ability to take initiative and proactively address challenges
  • Familiarity with applicable tools and methodologies
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with excellent communication skills

Total compensation for this role is market competitive. The anticipated range for this position based out of Syracuse, NY is estimated at $22.00 to $26.00/hour. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s experience, skills, and abilities, geographic location as well as other business and organizational needs.
