Job summary

Paycom in Miramar, FL, is seeking an experienced maintenance technician for packaging/finishing equipment. The role focuses on preventative maintenance, timely repairs, and supporting engineering with new equipment qualification for packaging production and AR&D test batches.

The ideal candidate has eight years of related experience, strong knowledge of cGMPs and FDA regulations, and the ability to write clear reports and procedures.

Qualifications

• Eight (8) years of related experience and/or training.
• Knowledge of cGMPs, FDA, and pharmaceutical SOPs.
• Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
• Ability to interpret instructions and solve problems.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventative maintenance on all equipment related to the Packaging/Finishing of Product.
• Repairs/Maintains packaging machines to avoid downtime.
• Install, test and assist in qualification of new equipment for packaging production and AR&D test batches.
• Assists engineers in daily engineering support.
• Investigate root causes for downtime and other events.
• Prepare and distribute shift updates to Supervisor and staff.
• Organize and dispatch engineering tasks to Engineering Technicians and Engineer Technician II.
• Operates in accordance with Code of Conduct and safety requirements.

Job Details:

Job Location: Miramar, FL 33025, Job Shift: Graveyard, Job Summary: This position repairs, maintains and performs preventative maintenance on packaging line and finishing equipment. Provides support to the packaging and finishing line production operation to avoid and minimize downtime and ensure the proper operation of equipment for continuous runs. Creates and/or edits documentation needed for packaging and finishing line equipment. Assist in the development and improvement of manufacturing processes and tooling including Prototype development, or tooling and fixture fabrication, etc.

Job Responsibilities:

• Performs preventative maintenance on all equipment related to the Packaging/Finishing of Product.
• Repairs/Maintains packaging machines to avoid and minimize downtime.
• Install, test and assist in the qualification of new equipment for the Packaging production operation and for AR&D test batches.
• Assists engineers in daily engineering support.
• Investigate and determine root cause for downtime and other events that result in investigations.
• Follow up and writes complete report for CAPAS.
• Be on-call for production packaging machine issues that may occur.
• Responsible to write shift update to Supervisor and distribute to required staff.
• Organize and dispatch engineering tasks to Engineering Technicians 1 and engineer Technician II.
• Works as a member of a team to achieve all outcomes;
• Operates in accordance with our Code of Conduct and Business Ethics, and all established regulatory, compliance and safety requirements

Qualifications:

Education:

• Technical Associate Degree or vocational school

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Pharmaceutical Manufacturing SOPs and other regulatory requirements.
• Business English usage, spelling, grammar and punctuation.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Computer skills in Word, Excel and MS Project, CAD skills are a plus.
• Ability to perform and complete Preventative Maintaince and forms.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Ability to make decisions and take action on machinery issues in a timely manner.
• Ability to clearly communicate in verbal and written English.

Experience:

• Eight (8) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
