Job summary

Newport News Shipbuilding is seeking an engineer-support professional to provide technical assistance to engineers and produce engineering documentation. You will gather and manipulate technical data, perform calculations, and help with test data as part of design evaluations.

The role requires an Associate's Degree with 1 year of experience, and may involve working with plant data, flowcharts, and schematics. On-site work in Newport News, VA is expected.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree and 1 years of relevant experience.
• NNS Apprentice School graduate.
• Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate.
• High School/GED and 2 years of related Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience.
• High School/GED and 4 years of non-related Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks.
• Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data, such as laboratory or material test results and engineering design changes.
• Produces engineering documentation, reports, drawings (flow charts, block diagrams, and schematics).
• Performs detailed mathematical calculations using established formulas; preliminary analyses of data; conducts tests and records data to aid evaluation.
