Job summary

Newport News Shipbuilding, a division of HII, is seeking a qualified professional for an E13 SUB ENGRG-ELECT role. The responsibilities include providing technical support to engineers, gathering and formatting data, and producing documentation and drawings.

The position requires an Associate's Degree with relevant experience and offers a full-time schedule on first shift in Newport News, VA. Travel up to 10% may be required; relocation is not provided.

Qualifications

Associate degree or equivalent with relevant experience.
Apprentice School graduate linked to NNPS and naval trades.
Both related and non-related manufacturing/shipbuilding/military experience are acceptable at different levels.

Responsibilities

Provides technical support to engineers on a variety of tasks.
Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data and engineering design changes.
Produces engineering documentation, reports, drawings (flow charts, block diagrams, schematics).
Performs detailed mathematical calculations and preliminary analyses under guidelines.
Uses a PC for analyses and documentation; may conduct tests and record data.

NNS Apprentice School graduate

Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate

High School/GED and 2 years of related Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience

High School/GED and 4 years of non-related Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience
