Job summary

Royal Switchgear Manufacturing, LLC in Bessemer, Alabama is seeking an Engineering Technician 2 to support design, development, production, testing, operation and maintenance of mechanical equipment and machinery.

Under supervision, you will set up and operate production machines, read blueprints, perform inspections and maintenance, and ensure safety, quality and 5S standards are followed. Strong problem-solving and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Require accreditation from a technical school or applicable skilled trades program and 2 to 4 years of experience.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering specifications.
• Demonstrate intermediate verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform work related to automation improvements, new plant layouts, installation, calibration and operation of production machines.
• Set up, adjust and operate machinery in support of the production process.
• Test and inspect machines to determine safe and efficient operation; perform routine maintenance and fix standard malfunctions.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering specifications and shop orders to determine machine setup, production methods and sequence of operation.
• Devise, fabricate and assemble new or modified mechanical components for products, such as machinery or equipment and measuring instruments.
• Complete all necessary documents fully and accurately.
• Adhere to 5S standards and maintain cleanliness of work area.
• Follow all Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
