Job summary

Legends Global seeks an Engineering Technician I to support the First Financial Center in Cincinnati, OH. You will perform semi-skilled inspections, testing, maintenance, and installation across electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and life-safety systems to support exhibitions and events.

The role may require up to a 12-hour shift, including nights and weekends. A high school diploma and 2+ years of maintenance experience are expected, with familiarity in MS Office and related tools.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; trade school/apprenticeship preferred.
• Two+ years of experience in commercial or facility general maintenance.
• Strong written and verbal communications skills; work well in a team.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safe, secure environments for clients and staff.
• Perform inspection, testing, maintenance and repair of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, safety and building systems.
• Operate Building Control Systems for space temperature and lighting.

The First Financial Centeris located inthe heart of downtown Cincinnati,Ohio,within blocks of top-rated restaurants, bars, pro-sports venuesand attractions.First Financial Center has an innovative design that can accommodate both large and small groups. The FirstFinancial Centerrecently completed a $264M reimagination and offers a 40,000 sq. ft. grand ballroom, 200,000 sq. ft. of exhibit space, and 30 deluxe meeting rooms.

THE ROLE

Under general direction from the Chief Engineer and Engineering Supervisor, the Engineering TechnicianIperforms a variety ofsemi-skilledinspection,testing,maintenance,installation and repair tasks in multiple trades to maintain Convention Center buildings,systems,equipment, furnishings, fixtures and campus in proper condition; and to provide temporaryelectrical, air, water and gas services in support of exhibitions, trade shows and other events.This positionmayinclude assignment of up to a 12-hour workshift,varying days and shift times includingnights,holidays,and weekends.In the absence of management, the Engineering Technician1may receive functional event related instructions from the Event Manager(s), or general instructions from the Director of Operations or Assistant General Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintains a safe, secure, pleasant environment for clients, visitors, and co-workers.
• Follows Convention Center policies and procedures, applicablecodes,and safety regulations.
• Performs inspection, testing,maintenance,and repair of electrical, mechanical, plumbing,safetyand building systems; equipment, structures and components asrequiredor assigned, using standardized procedures orspecialized instructionsfrom higher skill level technicians or supervisor.
• Operates Building Control Systems for the purpose of controlling space temperature and lighting.
• Layout,install and remove temporary electrical, air,water,and gas services in support of exhibitions, tradeshows,and other events.
• Accurately inputs data into department computers andmaintainsdocuments for the purposes of recording materials used orrequired, work needed or performed, client billing, timeutilized, monitoring physical plant conditions, and report generation.Documentation is kept currentdailyand includes all required information.
• Responds to requests promptly andperformstasks with a demonstrated sense of urgency.
• Proactively inspects facilities and equipment and acts promptly to address problems found.
• Performs all assigned tasksand conducts themselves in a professional manner.
• Maintains up-to-date knowledge of position requirements and attends in-service educationclasses.
• Uses andmaintainsvarious meters, test instruments, drills, saws and other power and hand tools in the performance of job duties.
• Utilizes powered aeriallifts,scaffoldand ladders to perform elevated work as needed.
• Maintains tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean, safe, and organizedfashionat all times.
• Utilizes and properlymaintainsassigned Personal Protective Equipment.
• Communicates work activities and status to Chief Engineer / Engineering Supervisor and affected departmentsin a timely manner.
• Performs work on his/her own without more than limited supervision.Plans work to minimizetimeand material needed for proper completion.
• Maintains working knowledge of facility utility and life safetysystemslocations andoperation.
• Occasionally mayperform duties of Engineering Technician II.
• Perform otherrelatedduties asmayassigned.

COMPENSATION

The starting hourly wage forthis positionis$23.00/hr.Competitive salary,commensuratewith experience, and a generous benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, paid vacation, and 401k plan.
