Job summary

Huntington Ingalls Industries, Inc. in Huntsville, Alabama, seeks several Engineering Technicians to support DoD contracts onsite. You will assist in design, build, troubleshooting, delivery and maintenance of trainers and test systems for Army and Navy programs.

Essential Job Responsibilities

LEVEL 1 = 0 years experience with Bachelors in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 4 years relevant experience.

LEVEL 2 = 2 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 0 years experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years relevant experience.

LEVEL 3 = 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.

• Performs a variety of duties in the electronic, mechanical, electromechanical, and/or optical areas.

• Constructs, troubleshoots, calibrates, adjusts, tests, diagnoses, and maintains equipment, components, devices, or systems.

• Works from schematics, engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions.

• Operates related equipment; conducts tests and reports data in prescribed format.

• Performs calibration and alignment checks; makes adjustments, modifications, and replacements as directed; prepares prescribed compounds and solutions.

Minimum Qualifications

• 2 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 0 years experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years relevant experience.

• Secret Security Clearance required at hire

Preferred Requirements

• Ability to read and understand Production Drawings

• Ability to read and understanding Wiring Diagrams

• Familiar with Cable building including build up of cable assemblies

• Familiar with Electronics testing equipment i.e. Voltmeters, oscilliscopes

• Some supervisory experience a plus

Physical Requirements

• May require working in an industrial or shipboard environment.

• Normally not required to lift more than 40 pounds higher than three feet above feet/floor level.

• May encounter extremes of temperature, pollution, humidity, noise, and other environmental factors while collecting data, observing performance of task teams.
