TEL Manufacturing and Engineering of America, Inc. in Chaska, MN is seeking an Engineering Technician (Contract).

You will support design, testing, fabrication, and assembly of prototype electro-mechanical systems, including test equipment and laser/optical devices as described. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, fault isolation, and assisting in the construction and checkout of test setups, using equipment such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, and other standard lab tools.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree or 2 years related experience; military tech training may substitute.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsabilités

Please consider joining our Talent Community so that we may continue to engage with you.Job DescriptionEngineering Technician-Contract PositionLocation: Chaska, MNResponsibilities • Supports engineering activities such as design, test, check-out, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electro mechanical systems, experimental design circuitry, laser/light transmission devices or specialized test equipment. • Works on applications that may include electronic circuits, photonics and logic systems. • Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and trouble-shooting functions. • Performs operational test and fault isolation on systems and equipment. • Assists in determining methods or actions to remedy malfunctions. • Assists in the design, construction, test and check-out of test equipment. • Uses manufacturing, test, development or diagnostic equipment, including, but not limited to, test programs, oscilloscopes, signal generators and specialized test apparatus.Typical Education and ExperienceAssociate's Degree or minimum of 2 years of related experience; completion of military technical training and field experience may substitute for an Associate's Degree; high school diploma or equivalent required.Physical Demands and Work Conditions The physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This position operates in an environment that may contain dust, noise, oils, greases, grinding debris, compressed air, metal shavings, propane and solvents. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to read, count and write to accurately complete all documentation. This job also requires the use of machines and hand tools necessary for tool and die fabrication, including lathe, milling machining, band saw, jig saw, drill press, filer, grinders, arc welder, brazing unit and other standard tools. This position requires frequent lifting up tp 35 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.Salary Ranges$21.69 - $29.01Individual pay is determined based on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, experience, skills, job-related knowledge, relevant education, certifications, and/or training. In addition to base salary, we offer (full time regular employees ) a comprehensive benefits package and for certain roles eligibility in our bonus plan and long-term incentives as applicable.
