Job summary

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS PDCAD division in Omaha, NE is seeking an Engineering Technician- Continuous Improvement to support the manufacturing engineering team on the production floor. The role emphasizes accurate preparation, control, and deployment of CI initiatives, lean projects, and 5S sustainment in a fast-paced environment.

You will analyze data, track improvements, and lead Kaizen events, RIEs, and other CI activities while contributing to digital manufacturing efforts with Industry 4.0

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a manufacturing, engineering, operations, or technology support environment.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing or operations environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support day-to-day manufacturing engineering activities and improvement initiatives.

  • Track and measure the effectiveness of implemented improvements and improvement programs.
  • Lead and support Kaizen events, Rapid Improvement Events (RIEs), and other continuous improvement activities.
  • Assist with plant-wide 5S initiatives and sustainment efforts.
  • Develop and implement visual workplace solutions (floor markings, labels, signage, shadow boards, boards).
  • Support the development and maintenance of documentation, visual aids, training videos and reference materials.
  • Support Eaton's Industry 4.0 initiatives and digital manufacturing strategies.

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS PDCAD division is currently seeking a Engineering Technician- Continuous Improvement to join the Omaha, NE team!

The hourly rate for this position is $23.00-$27.00 per hour.

Shift: Monday-Thursday, 6:00am-4:30pm

Position Overview

The Engineering Continuous Improvement Technician is a versatile, multi-functional team member responsible for supporting manufacturing engineering team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate preparation, control, and deployment of manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives to the production floor, while also contributing to lean manufacturing initiatives and departmental operational efficiency.

In This Function You Will
  • Support day-to-day manufacturing engineering activities and improvement initiatives.
  • Analyze manufacturing data and performance metrics to identify opportunities for improving safety, productivity, quality, and cost.
  • Track and measure the effectiveness of implemented improvements and improvement programs.
  • Lead and support Kaizen events, Rapid Improvement Events (RIEs), and other continuous improvement activities.

Qualifications
Required
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a manufacturing, engineering, operations, or technology support environment
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing or operations environment

  • Experience working with Lean manufacturing methodologies, terminology, and tools.
  • Experience working in a continuous improvement or operational excellence environment.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office and engineering/document management systems

Work Environment

This position operates in a combination of office and manufacturing floor environments and may require occasional interaction with production equipment and personnel.
