Job summary

L3Harris Technologies is seeking an Engineering Technician (Chemistry Lab) to perform a variety of duties in the mechanical and chemical areas of the laboratory. You will work under engineering drawings and manuals, calibrate equipment, and conduct analyses as required.

Based in Camden, Arkansas, you’ll operate complex instrumentation, collect data, and support test programs. A high school diploma with relevant experience is required; an associate degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 4 years of relevant experience or 2 years post-secondary/associate degree with 0–2 years of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Handle, process, and test chemicals and materials.
• Assist in design, construction, and testing of lab equipment.
• Calibrate and maintain laboratory instrumentation and data records.
• Perform analytical tests and report data following prescribed methods.
• Prepare samples and collect test data for analysis.
• Support lab operations including cleaning, inventory, and inspections.

Job Description

Performs a variety of duties in the mechanical and chemical areas of the laboratory. Assists in the design, construction, test, and check-out of test equipment. Constructs, troubleshoots, calibrates, adjusts, tests, diagnoses, and maintains equipment, components, devices, or systems. Works from specifications, operating or repair manuals, engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions. May work with complex instrumentation and computer systems. Operates related equipment; conducts tests, and reports data in prescribed format. Operates as a laboratory technician conducting analyses per prescribed test methods.

Essential Functions

• Handle, process, and mix chemicals.
• Sample and test raw materials, test propellants, test explosives.
• Prepare and collect test data.
• Perform mathematical calculations.
• Clean, assemble and dismantle test hardware, equipment, and apparatus.
• Perform laboratory support work such as instrument calibration, laboratory cleaning, inventory, inspections, and material handling.

Qualifications

• Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience

Preferred Additional Skills

• Knowledge of testing energetics a plus
