Job summary

L3Harris Technologies, Inc. in Rochester, NY is seeking an Engineering Technician C, Electrical Engineering to support test engineering in an automated factory that builds secure military radios.

The role focuses on troubleshooting, calibration, and documentation to keep test stations running at peak performance. You will work with PM coordination and Calibration Monitor to ensure spare parts, keep station records up to date, and mentor junior technicians while supporting manufacturing

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with 6 years prior experience, 2 year post-secondary/AA Degree and 2 years prior experience.
• Experience reading schematics and troubleshooting to component level.
• Proficiency with MS Word and Excel.
• Experience working with internal and external customers.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and perform preventative maintenance of complex digital and RF fixtures per drawings and docs.
• Assist in daily test issues and resolve environmental or up-flow test problems.
• Monitor station utilization and downtime and report to TE Lead.
• Assist manufacturing techs by answering questions and providing training on test systems.
• Create/Update station documentation like MTPs, BOMs, AMRs, and TSWs.

Job Description

L3Harris is seeking an Engineering Technician C, Electrical Engineering to perform test engineering support in an automated electronic factory, building secure military radios at our Rochester, NY Jefferson location.

Essential Functions

• Performs troubleshooting and preventative maintenance of complex digital and RF fixtures, including dismantling, adjusting, repairing, calibrating, aligning, assembling, and operating according to engineering drawings, schematics, and documentation.
• First line of defense in resolving daily test issues impacting troubleshoot, environmental, or up flow test for manufacturing and operations.
• Monitors station utilization and downtime and reports out to the TE Lead.
• Assists manufacturing technicians by answering questions and providing training on test systems and troubleshooting tools.
• Create/Update station documentation items such as MTP’s, Station BOM’s, AMR’s, and TSW’s.
• Works in conjunction with PM coordinator and Calibration Monitor to maintain proper spare parts inventory for the FF test stations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with 6 years prior experience, 2 year post-secondary/AA Degree and 2 years prior experience

Preferred Additional Skills

• Understanding of manufacturing systems, production processes, technical standards and equipment.
• Understanding of Harris RF New and Legacy products
• Minimum of 2 years of experience reading schematics and troubleshooting to component level
• Minimum of 1 year of experience MS Word and Excel
• 2 years experience with LabView
• 2 years experience with internal and external customers

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in New York is $54,500 - $101,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
