Job summary

L3Harris is seeking an Engineering Technician C in Cincinnati, OH to join a multidisciplinary team and assist in designing, manufacturing and testing electronic and electro-mechanical devices for national security. You will set up, test and troubleshoot electronics, record data, and help with root cause analysis in a production environment.

Ideal candidates have hands-on experience with electronic test equipment and are capable of calibrating instruments to standards.

Qualifications

• Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent plus 6 years of relevant experience, or 2 years post-secondary with 2+ years of related work experience.
• Ability to read and understand schematic diagrams and electronic circuitry.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Set up test equipment and perform manual and automated electronic testing in a production environment.

Job Description

L3Harris Fuzing & Ordnance Systems is in search of an Engineering Technician who will work with a multi-disciplinary team to collaboratively design, manufacture, and test electronic and electro-mechanical devices that support war fighters for the USA and our allies. The ideal candidate should have experience using manual and automated test equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, signal test generators, power supplies, counters, etc.) and experience troubleshooting electronic circuitry to the component level.

Knowledge of computerized test equipment, including hands-on experience, is required.

Essential Functions

• Set up test equipment and perform electronic testing, both manual and automated, in a production environment.
• Perform electronic troubleshooting and fault isolation.
• Record test data, maintain test data file system, shop routing documentation and accept/reject data for production & engineering assemblies.
• Assist technicians and engineers in performing Root Cause and Failure Analysis.
• Calibrate electronic test measuring equipment and signal generating equipment to conform to set standards.
• Correct malfunctions by adjusting or replacing parts or components.
• Assist Engineering in establishing operating standards for test systems including detailed test plans and work instructions.

Qualifications

• Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree in electronics engineering technology or related discipline with a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant work experience related to testing, troubleshooting and repairing electronic circuits and electronic components.
• Working knowledge (formal training and practical experience) of electronic circuitry and ability to read and understand schematic diagrams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Additional Skills

• Active U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance or higher.
• Experience using spectrum analyzers, power meters, signal generators, and other RF test equipment.
• IPC Solder Certification.
• Experience working in the Defense Industry.
• Experience working in Electronics Manufacturing.
