Job summary

Ampcus Inc. is seeking an experienced Mechanical Systems Engineer to support the design, procurement, manufacturing, and commissioning of auxiliary mechanical systems for gas turbine projects.

The ideal candidate will coordinate with suppliers and cross-functional teams to ensure meeting technical specifications. This onsite role in Orlando requires strong analytical and communication skills, with experience in field support during installation, commissioning, and warranty activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 6 years of relevant mechanical engineering experience.
  • Strong knowledge of gas turbine auxiliary mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare technical specifications and define engineering requirements per standards.
  • Evaluate supplier bids, provide technical clarifications, and support supplier selection.
  • Support design and procurement of Air Intake Systems, Air-Cooled Heat Exchangers, Acoustic/Noise Enclosures, Fire Protection Systems.
  • Review engineering designs and provide field support during installation, commissioning, and warranty activities.
  • Coordinate with engineers, project managers, customers and suppliers.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Systems Engineer to support the design, procurement, manufacturing, and commissioning of auxiliary mechanical systems for gas turbine projects. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in mechanical system design, supplier coordination, and cross-functional engineering collaboration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare technical specifications and define engineering requirements in accordance with company design standards.
  • Evaluate supplier bids, provide technical clarifications, conduct technical negotiations, assess risks, and support commercial supplier selection.
  • Support the design and procurement of:
    • Air Intake Systems
    • Air-Cooled Heat Exchangers
    • Acoustic/Noise Enclosures
    • Fire Protection Systems
  • Review internal and external engineering designs and technical documentation.
  • Provide technical support to the procurement team during equipment sourcing.
  • Coordinate with lead engineers, project managers, customers, suppliers, procurement teams, and other engineering disciplines.
  • Ensure supplier solutions meet technical specifications, customer requirements, and interface requirements.
  • Participate in manufacturing inspections and provide field support during installation, commissioning, and warranty activities.
  • Support proposal development and the bid management team.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues encountered during manufacturing or field operations.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 6 years of relevant mechanical engineering experience.
  • Strong knowledge of gas turbine auxiliary mechanical systems, including:
    • Air Intake Systems
    • Air-Cooled Heat Exchangers
    • Acoustic/Noise Enclosures
    • Ventilation Systems
    • Fire Protection Systems
  • Experience reviewing engineering documentation and technical specifications.
  • Ability to manage cross-functional and cross-product engineering initiatives.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a global, collaborative engineering environment.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.
Work Environment
  • 100% onsite.
  • May require coordination with domestic and international teams.
  • Occasional travel for manufacturing inspections, installation support, commissioning, and warranty activities.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience supporting supplier qualification and technical evaluations.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes and field commissioning of industrial equipment.
  • Experience supporting proposal development and technical bid activities.
