Northrop Grumman is seeking an Engineering Technician 2 to support armament systems at our Plymouth, MN site. You will build modules, boards, panels, cables using precision tools from diagrams and drawings.

Key tasks include performing assembly operations, following engineering drawings, conducting quality checks, and reworking assemblies as needed. Requires high school diploma, 2 years experience, and IPC J-STD-001 certification.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent with 2 years of related experience in hand soldering or assembling electronic components.
  • Active IPC J-STD-001 Certification.
  • Ability to follow detailed technical instructions and communicate effectively within a team.

  • Drawing Navigation: work from engineering diagrams and layouts.
  • Quality: conduct continuity checks and quality inspections.

Northrop Grumman is seeking a skilled Engineering Technician 2 to perform a variety of production assembly operations on electronic and mechanical assemblies. This role will support armament systems at our Plymouth, MN site. In this role, you will work from diagrams and technical drawings to build modules, boards, panels, drawers, frames, and cables using precision hand/power tools, jigs, and saws.

Key Responsibilities
  • Production Assembly: Perform repetitive and non-repetitive assembly operations on complex electronic and electro-mechanical subassemblies.
  • Drawing Navigation: Work directly from engineering diagrams, technical drawings, and initial layouts.
  • Quality: Conduct continuity checks on in-process and completed work, perform quality inspections.
  • Re-work: Disassemble, modify, re-work, re-assemble, and test assemblies under simulated conditions.
Basic Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent & 2 years of related experience in hand soldering or assembling electronic components within a manufacturing setting
  • Certification: Active IPC J-STD-001 Certification.
  • Soft Skills: Ability to follow detailed technical instructions and communicate effectively within a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced Experience: 3+ years in a manufacturing environment.
  • Expert Soldering: 3+ years of experience in hand soldering, including inspection, complex re-work/repair, and utilizing various specialized soldering tools and equipment.
  • Technical: Advanced ability to understand, interpret, and attention to detail to technical documents on electro-mechanical work.
  • Software Skills: Proficiency with Manufacturing Execution System (MES) software and Microsoft 365 applications.
  • Hazard Work: Willingness to be trained to work on explosive assemblies.

Primary Level Salary Range: $25.69 - $42.79The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
