This position offers hands-on work, paid training, and opportunities for career growth within DOTD.
The incumbent must be self-motivated and be able to perform duties many times with or without minimal supervision and also be able to interpret unforeseen conditions as they may arise. The incumbent will participate in appropriate DOTD structured training programs as appropriate and attend all continuing education classes and conferences deemed necessary to facilitate the performance of required task.
Possession of a high school diploma or GED; OR
Six months of experience in sub-professional engineering, heavy mobile equipment operation, or mobile equipment maintenance.

Appointment Type: Probational or Promotional
Work Schedule: This position will work 40 hours per week. Schedule can be discussed.
Compensation: Salary depends on qualifications. The starting hourly rate and premium pay amounts for each level are as follows:
Engineering Technician 1 - The starting salary is $14.00/hourly with an additional $2.00 optional pay for every hour worked.
Engineering Technician 2 - Starting salary is $16.03/hourly with an additional $2.00 optional pay for every hour worked.
Engineering Technician 3 - Starting salary is $18.35/hourly with an additional $2.00 optional pay for every hour worked.
Engineering Technician 4 - The starting salary is $21.00/hourly with an additional $2.00 optional pay for every hour worked.
