Advanced Silicon Carbide Materials (ASCM) is seeking an Engineering Technician to provide technical support, troubleshoot, test, and analyze data while helping implement designs and processes.

You will collaborate with scientists, engineers, and production teams to ensure equipment and systems operate reliably, maintain documentation, and contribute to quality assurance throughout manufacturing.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Technical training or CNC/mechanical/electrical coursework preferred.
  • 3–5 years of relevant engineering/production/technical experience or equivalent training.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support including troubleshooting, testing, data analysis, and design/process implementation assistance.
  • Set up and run tests, analyze data, report results, and suggest improvements.
  • Maintain detailed records, prepare reports, and update manuals and maintenance logs.

Position Summary

The Engineering Technician at ASCM will provide technical support, including troubleshooting, testing, data analysis, and assisting with the implementation of designs and processes. This role bridges the gap between engineering concepts and practical application, ensuring that equipment, systems, and processes function efficiently and reliably.

Technical Support
  • Assist Scientist and Engineers in the design, testing, and implementation of equipment, products, or systems.
  • Perform troubleshooting and repairs on mechanical, electrical, and production systems.
  • Collaborate with production teams to resolve technical issues.
Testing and Analysis
  • Set up and execute tests to evaluate the performance of equipment and systems.
  • Record, analyze, and report test data, identifying issues and suggesting improvements.
  • Assist in quality assurance by inspecting parts, products, or assemblies to ensure compliance with specifications.
Documentation and Reporting
  • Maintain detailed records of technical activities, including test results, schematics, and modifications.
  • Prepare technical reports and documentation for review by Scientist and Engineers and supervisors.
  • Update equipment manuals, procedures, and maintenance logs as needed.
Process and Equipment Support
  • Operate, program, and maintain CNC and other production equipment, including setup, tooling, and troubleshooting, installation, calibration, and maintenance.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment, including regular cleaning of equipment and work areas.
  • Own tools, materials, and inventory – organize, track, and update to ensure accurate stock levels and efficient workflows.
Collaboration and Innovation
  • Work closely with engineering, production, and quality teams to improve processes and systems.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions to identify innovative solutions for technical challenges.
  • Support the development and implementation of new technologies.
Requirements
Education and Experience Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED, trade school certificate) required.
  • Technical training or relevant work experience in CNC machining, mechanical, or electrical systems preferred.
  • 3-5 years of relevant engineering, production, or technical experience, or equivalent education/trade school training, including CNC operation or equipment troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of appropriate software including: Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, Microsoft PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat
  • Valid driver’s license and current automobile insurance
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lb safely
