Job summary

Commercial Sewing, Inc. in Torrington, CT, is seeking an Engineering Technician to support the Product Development Process. You will develop drawings, fabricate jigs and fixtures, and generate technical data to help deliver high-quality products using established processes.

The role requires hands-on fabrication, CAD proficiency, and the ability to collaborate with engineers, sales, and production to meet customer and company requirements. Overtime may be required to meet deadlines.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree or equivalent experience in fabrication or machining.
• GD&T training is a plus.
• Related on-job experience ~ 3 years.
• CAD software (SolidWorks) knowledge is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Take part in daily team meetings within the Engineering department or on project teams.
• Work with engineers, Sales and Production personnel and management to ensure all product and systems meet customer and company requirements.
• Accountable for producing/updating drawings, instructions, and specifications to produce each product.
• Maintain maintenance personal and shared workspaces to company standards.
• Ensure data accuracy in ERP system (Epicor).
• Working overtime or longer hours maybe required to meet deadlines.

Job Summary

The Engineering Technician is a support role to the Product Development Process. Candidates are required to have an array of technical skills in the fields of product development and manufacturing. They will work to help develop a high-quality product efficiently using established tools and processes. You will work on a wide range of items; the ability to create drawings, fabricate jigs and fixtures as well as generate other technical information needed for efficient development of each and every product using Commercial Sewing’s established processes.

Job Responsibilities

• Take part in daily team meetings within the Engineering department or on project teams.
