Job summary

Stefanini Group in Round Lake, IL is seeking an Engineering Technician to support our R&D lab on-site. The role focuses on hands-on mechanical or electrical tasks, data collection, and routine testing under minimal supervision.

You will perform a variety of experiments, maintain equipment, document results, and help troubleshoot issues. Requirements include an associate degree or higher, 1–2 years of related experience, strong communication, and proficiency with basic computer tools.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or Higher School diploma.
• 1-2 yrs of mechanical or electrical experience is strong, or engineering grads with some intern experience.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic computer skills such as word processing, data entry and e-mail.
• Basic science and/or math skills.
• Team orientation.
• Mechanical or Electrical background would be preferred.
• Strong documentation skills.
• Following procedures but also being able to think outside the box and trouble shoot issues found.

Responsibilities

• May make detailed observations, analyze data and interpret results.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and inventory levels for laboratory supplies.
• May write experimental reports, summaries and protocols.
• May also develop and maintain record keeping for experiments performed.
• Perform limited troubleshooting and calibration of instruments.
• Individuals usually is assigned routine assembly and testing portions of projects (e.g. Product performance and software script testing).

Shift: 1 st Shift (8:00 AM-5:00 PM) (can be adjusted +/- 1 hour if needed)

Engineering

This is a position in an R&D lab which will usually require hands on/on-site work. Work on assignments that are simple or moderately complex in nature where judgment is required in resolving problems and making routine recommendations. Normally receives no instruction on routine work, general instructions on new assignments. Apply basic techniques and procedures to assigned projects.

Listed salary ranges may vary based on experience, qualifications, and local market. Also, some positions may include bonuses or other incentives.
