Hours: Monday to Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM, Friday WFH (after the first 90 days)
Experience Level: 5-10 years
Salary: $27.50 - $35.00 per hour (DOE)
The Engineering Technician is the first line of technical contact for Loopback Systems customers and a hands-on extension of the engineering team. This role keeps utility communication systems running after they are delivered and helps new systems move cleanly from installation to reliable operation.
In a given week, the Technician may work on a customer issue from first call to resolution, travel to assist with a utility facility or well site to bring equipment online, and return to the office to release drawings or price a bid. Success depends on owning problems through to closure, knowing when to elevate issues to managers or supervisors, and keeping a clear record of what was found and done.
The Technician also supports the business side of project delivery. Accurate documentation, organized project files, and well-prepared bids give Loopback's engineers and project managers what they need to plan, quote, and deliver work for customers in the electric, natural gas, and steam sectors. The role is best suited for someone detail-oriented, able to easily communicate with customers and vendors, comfortable at a desk or on a job site, and interested in industrial communications and network infrastructure. Loopback’s ideal Engineering Technician is proactive and independent, able to think two steps ahead and act on what needs to be done without waiting to be told.

Loopback Systems operates as an EPC+M firm, a project delivery model that combines the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) turnkey approach with a Management (M) role. Loopback specializes in developing and deploying these solutions using configured hardware and client-owned or our proprietary software to support the secure and reliable transfer of SCADA and meter data between energy utilities and their assets, or the assets of Distributed Generators. We serve clients in the electric, natural gas, and steam energy sectors.
