Schnabel Engineering, Richmond, VA office is seeking an Engineering Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a detail-oriented mindset, a willingness to learn, and the ability to work effectively in a team on construction-site projects.

Responsibilities include field testing of soils and materials, lab testing, and supporting project teams. This position involves lifting heavy loads, outdoor work, and meeting safety requirements.

Formación

• High School degree required.
• Valid Driver’s License required.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Able to perform basic math computations.
• Ability to lift 50–75 pounds and work outdoors on construction sites.

• Field observation and testing during placement of construction materials including soil, concrete, asphalt, masonry, and sprayed-on fireproofing.
• Soil and concrete laboratory testing.

Job Responsibilities:

• Field observation and testing during placement of construction materials including soil, concrete, asphalt, masonry, and sprayed-on fireproofing
• Soil and concrete laboratory testing

Required Skills/Experience:

• High School degree
• Valid Driver’s License
• Possess good oral, written, communication, and organizational skills
• Able to perform rudimentary mathematic computations
• Candidates must be able to lift 50 - 75 pounds on an occasional basis and be physically able to negotiate construction sites, climb ladders and work outside.
• Construction experience is preferred but not required

Other Requirements:

• Ability to pass a background check which may include criminal history and motor vehicle record
• Ability to pass a pre-employment employment drug screening

The compensation range for an Engineering Technician is between $16/hr to $22/hr . Compensation for this position may vary based on geographic location and other factors. We remain committed to providing competitive and equitable compensation to all employees, regardless of their location.
