Job summary

Responsibilities

• Supports engineering activities such as design, testing, modifications, fabrication and assembly of prototype electromechanical systems, experimental design circuitry, operating specialized test equipment.
• Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and trouble-shooting functions.
• Working with engineers to design, machine and construct prototypes, test fixtures, specialized lab equipment.
• Will perform operational test and fault isolation on systems and equipment. Assists in determining methods or actions to remedy malfunctions.
• Assists in the design, construction, test and check-out of test equipment.
• Problem solving lab equipment, test setups and supporting engineer’s projects. Provides feedback to engineers on design for manufacturability, test results.
• Works closely with development engineers and conducts engineering tests and detailed experimental testing to collect design data or assist in research work. Troubleshoots prototypes and model failures.
• Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience; may lead small projects with manageable risks and resource requirements.
• Having knowledge of vacuum systems, oscilloscopes and signal generators a plus.

This is an onsite role in Fremont, CA. Regular shift Mon-Fri 40 hous

Responsibilities:

Applications may include mechanical assembly, thermal and stress testing, electronic circuits, basic logic controllers (PLC) programming, machining on manual mill and lathe, and use of basic hand tools.
