Job summary

Boyd’s Advanced Cooling Division, located in Fredericksburg, VA, is seeking a Senior Technician to fabricate, assemble, modify, and evaluate electronic and mechanical parts for advanced cooling systems used in enterprise and aerospace/defense applications.

You will join a multi-disciplined engineering team and influence concepts through to production, performing wiring, PCB work, cable routing, testing, and documentation.

Qualifications

• 2-10+ years of relevant work experience in electrical and mechanical part/system assembly and test.
• Competent in reading drawings, schematics, and work instructions.
• Demonstrated experience in board-level electronic circuit soldering, including mixed-signal Analog/Digital.
• Experience with serial data, power, and sensor cable fabrication and quality checks.
• Ability to troubleshoot electrical issues during board bring up and validation.
• Comfortable with standard lab equipment.
• Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands.
• Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation.
• Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results.
• Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).

Responsibilities

• Assembling electrical product designs within an inter-disciplinary team to address complex product design and manufacturing challenges including cable fabrication, electronic enclosure wirings, system cable routing, printed circuit board soldering, and wiring quality checks.
• Assembling mechanical system components including motors, heat exchangers, piping, cable routing, printed circuit board install, rack structures.
• Install electrical components, create and review schematics, performs PCB repair and fabrication, and assists in finding vendors to fabricate designed PCBs.
• Leads testing on new and modified designs.
• Develops and carries out test plans and qualification testing required for production launch.
• Maintains product documentation (drawings and specifications) and lessons learned; produce assembly work instruction, test reports, operating manuals and test procedures.

General Responsibilities
