Job DescriptionBoyd Thermal by Eaton - The Engineering Technician is responsible for fabricating, assembling, modifying, and evaluating electronic/mechanical parts, components or integrated circuitry for electronic equipment and other hardware systems including thermal management, control, and power distribution.The role will include:Assembling electrical product designs within an inter-disciplinary team to address complex product design and manufacturing challenges including cable fabrication, electronic enclosure wirings, system cable routing, printed circuit board soldering, and wiring quality checksAssembling mechanical system components including motors, heat exchangers, piping, cable routing, printed circuit board install, rack structuresInstall electrical components, create and review schematics, perform PCB repair and fabrication, and assists in finding vendors to fabricate designed PCBsLeads testing on new and modified designsDevelops and carries out test plans and qualification testing required for production launchMaintains product documentation (drawings and specifications) and lessons learned; produce assembly work instruction, test reports, operating manuals and test proceduresExperience / Qualification3+ years of relevant work experience in electrical and mechanical part/system assembly and testBachelor’s or advanced engineering degree preferred, or equivalent work experienceCompetent in use of reading drawings, schematics, and work instructionsDemonstrated experience in board-level electronic circuit soldering, including mixed-signal Analog/DigitalExperience with serial data, power, and sensor cable fabrication and quality checksAbility to troubleshoot electrical issues during board bring up and validationComfortable with standard lab equipmentDMM, oscilloscope, signal generators, soldering equipment, general power toolsMust be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demandsStrong communication skills; oral, written and presentationStrong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve resultsStrong personal and professional ethical values and integrityInterview Requirements and Candidate Privacy NoticeAll positions may require participation in video and in-person interviews as part of the hiring process.
