Job summary

G.S. Precision is seeking an Engineering Technician to develop and improve manufacturing processes and provide technical support to help achieve business goals.

You will create CNC programs, optimize throughput and collaborate with toolmakers, while maintaining documentation and training CNC operators.

Qualifications

  • At least three years in manufacturing or precision machining.
  • Proficiency with CNC operations and process documentation.
  • Knowledge of GD&T and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and improve manufacturing processes.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting.
  • Create CNC programs and setup instructions.
  • Collaborate with toolmakers on fixturing and tooling.
  • Lead or participate in special projects as needed.

Job Summary:

The Engineering Technician is responsible for developing and improving manufacturing processes, and provides technical support to help achieve the goals of the business.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Provide manufacturing processes via CNC programs and/or detailed setup information
  • Optimize processes for throughput, cost, process control, scrap percentage, and ease of setup
  • Collaborate with toolmakers to create custom work holding and cutting tool solutions
  • Maintain process documentation to internal and industry standards
  • Assist Operations team with technical support and troubleshooting
  • Perform machine setups for particularly difficult or unproven processes
  • Observe all company policies, rules, and regulations including good housekeeping, safety, and security.
  • Provide training and mentorship to CNC operators/Setup
  • Occasionally lead or participate in special projects and initiatives.
Requirements
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills
  • Advanced organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities
  • Novice understanding of GD&T
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
  • Beginner skills with Cad/Cam and other software specific to manufacturing
  • Advanced beginner skills with G-Code and CNC machine controls
  • Novice level of understanding of machining processes
Education and Experience:
  • At least three years related manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Mastercam and Solidworks experience preferred
