Job summary

Intertek USA seeks a Team Lead-Engineering for its Columbus, OH electrical team to lead testing, evaluation and mentorship of engineers and technicians, ensuring compliance with U.S., Canadian and international standards. The role involves client interaction, project oversight, and active participation in sales support and process improvement.

The position offers leadership responsibility, the potential for travel up to 25%, and a path to advance within a global quality assurance organization

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a directly related engineering field.
• 4+ years of directly related experience including product testing.
• Experience leading a team, formally or informally.
• Ability to travel up to 25%.
• Strong problem solving and independent work ability.
• Excellent organization and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing and evaluation on products to U.S., Canadian and international safety standards; write reports and communicate with clients.
• Provide local expertise in one or more product categories and mentor staff.
• Supervise Engineers and Technicians; assign, train, coach, and manage performance; hire/fire recommendations and timesheets.
• Manage manpower projections and utilization within the area.
• Support sales with quoting and client meetings.
• Ensure compliance with Intertek policies and procedures; manage housekeeping and equipment calibration.
• Hire, train, develop, and evaluate team members; manage invoicing and cost oversight.
• Drive daily projects to meet deadlines and safety/quality protocols; interface with clients on projects.
