Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. in Tucson, AZ is seeking an Engineering Team Leader for Large Mining Truck Productivity Class. You will lead light structures projects, coordinate across product development, value chain, manufacturing, procurement, and support to deliver on time and within budget.

This role requires a degree in engineering or computer science and extensive experience in mining or heavy-structures design, with strong leadership, project staffing, and analysis skills including FEA.

Qualifications

• Requires degree in an accredited Engineering or Computer Science curriculum.
• Experience in light or heavy structures product design and development.
• Leadership in directing project staffing in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the team to achieve all New Product Introduction (NPI) deliverables including quality, velocity, and cost targets.
• Lead the team in resolving Continuous Product Improvement (CPI) projects with urgency to reduce customer pain.
• Drive collaboration with product development groups, value chain, manufacturing, procurement, suppliers, commercial, and product support.
• Direct project staffing; motivate and develop project team and members.
• Provide leadership for design reviews and conformance to design guidelines and best practices.
• Oversee project progress, communicating status with stakeholders and participating functional areas.
• Develop project scope to address business challenges and opportunities.
