Job summary

Walt Whitman High School in Bethesda, MD seeks a 0.6 Project Lead the Way (Engineering) teacher and a 0.4 Internship coordinator to provide rigorous, hands-on engineering education and internship coordination.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in applicable field of education from an accredited college or university.
• Foundation office programs requirements: Secondary school diploma with at least five years of full-time industry experience in the discipline to be taught within the last 10 years, or a bachelors degree in education with demonstrated industry experience.
• Industry licensures and/or industry certification preferred.
• Certificate License: Meets Maryland state certification requirements in appropriate field of education.

Responsibilities

• Plan and provide learning experiences for students.
• Supervise students in a variety of school settings.
• Monitor and evaluate student outcomes.
• Develop and modify instructional plans and materials to meet diverse needs.
• Maintain records and follow MCPS procedures.
• Communicate with students, parents, staff and community.
• Attend school meetings outside instructional day as mandated by MCEA contract.
