ENGINEERING SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR (MIELS):

Bowhead is seeking Engineering Systems Administrators to support a customer in Stafford, VA. Responsibilities include program management, logistics, asset management, engineering, customer service, research and development of new capabilities, test and evaluation, manpower, training, and personnel, new equipment fielding and training, financial management, information assurance, cybersecurity, and 24x7 enterprise services operations and sustainment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee installation, configuration, and maintenance of operating systems and related software on premises and in the cloud.
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability and performance.
• Install and maintain infrastructure services including servers, storage, KVM, etc., supporting enterprise operations.
• Implement and manage security measures to comply with DoD/IC policies and regulations.
• Conduct regular system audits for security compliance.
• Support physical and virtual servers across multiple sites.
• Ensure proper configuration and health of server hardware, storage, and compute resources.
• Develop scripts to automate system administration tasks.
• Provide advanced technical support for escalated issues.
• Maintain detailed documentation of configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
• Collaborate with teams on system integrations and new initiatives.
• Assess system performance and scalability for future growth.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or 5+ years of practical system administration experience.
• DoD 8570 / 8140 compliance or relevant information assurance certification.
• Applicable software/hardware training and certifications.
• Cloud certification.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to lift 25 pounds.
• Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods.
• Ability to twist, bend, and squat periodically.

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED: Must currently hold a Top Secret clearance with eligibility for SCI / Counter Intelligence Polygraph. US Citizenship required for Top Secret clearance.
