Job summary

Pike Engineering is seeking an Engineering Supervisor II (Project Management) to lead engineering and technical support for the group and its leaders, guiding projects and supervising schedules. The incumbent will mentor engineers and designers and drive engineering duties.

Key duties include coaching other engineering professionals, QA/QC development, reviewing subordinate work, and contributing to business development while maintaining client relationships.

Qualifications

  • Requires a Bachelor's of Science in engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • 4-7 years of experience in electric utility infrastructure design and engineering.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical information; strong written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

  • Lead engineering and technical support to the group and administrative leadership.
  • Manage project schedules and oversee QA/QC processes.
  • Review work of subordinate engineering professionals and mentor engineers/desisgners.
  • Assist in recruiting and business development for the group.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • C o a c h a n d m en t or ot h er E n g i n ee r i n g p r o fe ss i o n a l s on complex, multi-disciplined projects
  • Maintain advanced knowledge of industry engineering and technical codes, standards, and best practices
  • Review work of subordinate Engineering professionals
  • Develop and oversee QA/QC and technical training processes and procedures for assigned offices, work teams, projects, and/or clients
  • Engineering / technical expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis and resolution of problems
  • Assist in recruiting efforts, when requested
  • Assist in Business Development and Strategic Planning for the group, when requested
  • Perform Project Management Activities on Assigned Client Projects along with Responsible Charge
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

RELATIONSHIP OUTSIDE WORK GROUP:

Influences decisions of moderate nature requiring high degree of tact.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Required A Bachelor's of Science degree for man ABET accredited four-year college or University in Engineering preferably in one of the core engineering disciplines (i.e., Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil).

Experience

4-7Year(s) Experience in electric utility infrastructure design and engineering.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
  • A. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
  • B. Ability to write reports, Business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • C. Ability to effectively present information in one-on one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
  • A. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference and fundamentals of plan and solid geometry and trigonometry.
REASONABILITY ABILITY:
  • A. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • B. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Able to clearly communicate both written and orally within internal and external clients and employees.
