Engineering Supervisor, Electrical/I&C Design at Holtec International – Palisades Nuclear Plant, Covert, MI

Holtec Palisades is seeking an Engineering Supervisor, Electrical/I&C Design to join our Palisades Nuclear Plant team. This role is part of the team working on an historic first: the first US nuclear plant to restart after decommissioning. You will play a key part in ensuring safe and reliable generation of electricity using nuclear power.

Job Summary / Purpose

Oversee the performance of engineering functions on a group level associated with projects promoting safe and reliable generation of electricity using nuclear power.

Job Duties / Responsibilities

• Manage engineering work assignments to ensure the group responds to department and organizational needs.
• Control engineering cost through maximization of staff productivity and tracking expenditures within budget parameters.
• Monitor personnel and group effectiveness in achieving established goals; serve as team leader as needed and supervise performance, resolving employee conflict or concerns.
• Communicate with all levels of the organization, representing the department at meetings.
• Propose process and design changes that improve equipment and personnel efficiency.
• Ensure all activities are performed within regulatory and procedural guidelines.
• Interface with regulatory and industry representatives on behalf of station activities.
• Communicate technical information, concepts, and ideas verbally and in writing.
• Participate as an emergency plan member and engineering duty manager.

Minimum Requirements – Education

• B.S. Degree in Engineering.

Minimum Experience

• 5 years’ experience in nuclear plant design, systems, programs, or operations.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Technical proficiency in the assigned area; technical understanding of nuclear generation principles and operation.
• Good communication, conflict management, and change management skills (desired).

Certificates, Licenses & Other Requirements

Candidates must meet or exceed ANSI/ANS 3.1-1978 and ANSI Section 4.3.2 – Supervisors Not Requiring NRC License. At the time of the initial core loading or appointment to the position, whichever is later, a Supervisor in this category shall have a high school diploma or equivalent and four years of experience in the craft or discipline they supervise.
