Job summary

Verdantas in Mentor, Ohio is seeking an Engineering Staff I to transition from academic learning to impactful, real‑world civil engineering projects. You will contribute to utility projects, perform calculations, and assist with design reports under experienced supervision.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET‑accredited institution.
• 0-3 years of experience in civil-site and municipal engineering.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D and HydroCAD a plus.
• EIT preferred.
• Familiarity with ArcGIS software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical planning and design support on various utility projects that may include storm and sanitary sewer collection systems, water distribution, and various other civil engineering projects
• Prepare engineering calculations to support design
• Prepare design reports and construction plans using local and state standards
• Prepare construction plans using AutoCAD 3D Civil 3D
• Prepare plans and specifications for public bid
• Prepare/assist with permit submittals
• Prepare preliminary project cost estimates and evaluate quantities
• Assist with/review scope, budget, and schedule of new project tasks
• Document design changes and communications
• Conduct on‑site inspections as needed
• Attend client, public, project and staff meetings, including client progress, plan review, preconstruction, etc.

• Familiarity with HydroCAD or other stormwater modeling software is a plus
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D preferred
• EIT Preferred
• Familiarity with ArcGIS software is a plus

Salary Range:

Starting at $68,000.00
