Job summary

Washing Systems, LLC (WSI), now part of the Kao family, seeks an Engineering Specialist to join the Engineering/Equipment Department. The role involves organizing projects, overseeing installation and maintenance of equipment, and providing expert technical guidance.

The engineer will collaborate with customers and vendors, evaluate designs, and help implement policies and improvements to enhance quality, productivity, and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; 1–2 years of applicable experience is desired; equivalent military education with four plus years of applicable experience or high school diploma/GED and eight plus years of applicable experience.
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and organizational skills are preferred.
• Strong computer skills and the ability to work independently.
• Auto CAD and PLC programming experience a plus.

• Develop and implement policies, standards, and procedures for the engineering and technical work performed.
• Initiate, plan and participate actively in equipment modifications and project improvement for quality, productivity and cost reduction.
• Identify advanced technologies and applications for potential business development.
• Evaluate Engineering/Equipment processes and SOP's to identify areas of improvement.
• Assist Director of Engineering in coordinating work to support project management and day-to-day operations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus and differentiate color.
• Frequently required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and talk or hear.
• Overnight travel of 10% - 30%.
• Travel abroad.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Corporate working environment.
• Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
• Occasionally in extreme heat conditions.
• Indoor customer sites may have high noise levels.
• May be required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at customer sites.
