Our Company

Pennichuck Corporation is engaged primarily in the collection, storage, treatment, distribution and sale of potable water in southern and central New Hampshire. As the largest water utility in the state of New Hampshire, we have two business segments: regulated water utility operations and non-regulated water management services. We are headquartered in Merrimack, New Hampshire.

We are seeking an organized, customer-focused Engineering Services Coordinator to join our Engineering team. This role plays a key part in Pennichuck’s customer new service program, coordinating the process of establishing new water service from initial inquiry through installation and account activation. The position also provides administrative and logistical support for a variety of Engineering programs and projects, including infrastructure improvements, water main extensions, developer services, and asset management initiatives.

If you enjoy working with customers, coordinating multiple projects and priorities, solving problems, and collaborating with teams across an organization, we encourage you to apply. This is a great opportunity for someone who is detail-oriented, communicative, and interested in supporting the essential work that keeps our water systems and communities growing.

What You'll Do
  • Engineering Services for New Water Service Connections: With support from the Senior Engineer, manage and coordinate all aspects of new water service connections from initial customer engagement through final meter installation, service activation, and post-construction issue resolution. Specific essential job functions and responsibilities include:
    • Serve as the primary point of contact to schedule and coordinate new water service inspections and installations with internal departments, homeowners, and contractors.
    • Monitor project progress and communicate timelines, requirements, fees, etc., to new customers.
    • Track service inspection and installation dates in Excel or other enterprise platforms and maintain accurate records.
    • Collect and organize all service applications including applicable fees.
    • Prepare project specific new service agreements for a large number of customers.
    • Communicate directly with homeowners and assist with directing questions to the appropriate Pennichuck representative.
    • Assist in developing public outreach materials and mailings related to new water service connections, as needed.
    • Coordinate field inspections and meter installations.
    • Maintain and track required documentation and update project databases.
  • Assist with Developer-Led Main Extension and Service Projects and Capital Infrastructure Improvement Projects: Provide support and serve as the backup to the Engineering Program Administrator. Specific essential job functions may include:
    • Coordinating resources and services to support the water main extension program and capital improvements projects.
    • Train under the Engineering Program Administrator on all aspects of the preparation of main extension agreements or service applications related to third-party/developer-led projects.
    • Support engineering teams in the planning, coordination, and execution of capital engineering and development projects.
  • Other Duties: May assist with collection of field GPS data or other types of data and coordinate and/or execute field work.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate project documentation and ensure proper reporting of project status, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Support Process Improvement: Identify areas where processes could be streamlined or optimized to increase efficiency and reduce roadblocks in the development workflow.
  • Vendor and Stakeholder Management: Provide support to the Engineering Program Administrator through coordination of communication and tasks between developers and external stakeholders, including vendors, contractors, consultants, and customers.
