Caterpillar Inc. in Lafayette, IN is seeking an Engineering Project Team Leader within the Large Power Systems Division. You will own system-level design control for engines, components, software and performance, spanning new product introduction to manufacturing support.

Responsibilities include shop support, change management, and enforcing Build Quality governance. The role requires a 2-year technical degree and strong technical and communication skills.

The Large Power Systems Division (LPSD) is part of Caterpillar’s Power & Energy segment. Through this global organization, Caterpillar designs and manufacture large (greater than 18 liters) diesel and natural gas engines, powertrains and key engine systems. LPSD products and solutions support customers across power generation, industrial, marine, oil & gas, rail, services and Cat® machine applications worldwide.

Job Summary

This key Engineering Project Team Leader role is in the Large Power Systems Division G3600 Platform group. The Platform Team has design control ownership for the system level of engines components, software, and performance. Responsibilities span across new product introduction, current product improvement, supplier and supply chain support, and manufacturing support.

• Computer-Aided Design & Engineering: Knowledge of tools and techniques of specialized graphics programs; ability to produce, analyze, simulate and test product design drafts.
• Product Design - MFG: Knowledge of processes, approaches, tools and techniques of product design; ability to convert customer and market requirements into product design.
• Product Design and Development: Knowledge of product features; ability to design, build, and develop a new product, technology, or service from concept through to production.
